The Demand for medical assistants

Land a job fast being a medical assistant
Posted by Bryan Karl

With the ongoing financial crisis being experienced by the global economy, landing a job is not an easy thing. But there are two job categories that will never be taken out that fast. One is information technology; because we can’t abandon a growing phase of technology. Second is health care and medicine. Every year, a lot of nursing students take the board exam but to no luck, only less than 50% of them pass (i.e. in the Philippines). Being a nurse may be one of the highest paying jobs but it will take you long to be one. United States recently announced that another medical job which is being a medical assistant is one of the fastest growing occupations in the field of health care. Good news is that medical assistant schools are now online (i.e. St. Augustine School of Medical Assistants) – you go to school online, erasing the conventional classroom method. We call this distance education and have already been effective to many accounts. For 6-8 weeks, a diploma will be in your hands and jobs will come knocking on your doors.Medical assistants go to school either online or personally. But if you want to have a flexible schedule with a guarantee of a high quality of education, then an online medical assistant school is the good choice for you. You don’t have to get a 4-year degree course to land in a high-paying job. It’s all your choice.

M, Willy's niece, is now working as a
medical assistant in a nursing home in London. It's quite a change for her, as she worked as a personel manager in a factory in Taiwan before. That's actually where I got to know her, when Willy and I spent a month in Taiwan last 2005. We were in Taichung City for IVF treatment, and although the treatment wasn't successful for us, the friends we made there are invaluable, and the 30 days we spent there bonded as closer as a couple.M told us that she took an online medical assistant course before heading off to London. She looked up medical assistant schools, and decided that online was the best option for her. She told me that her online studies only took a couple of months and she received her degree. And her papers were processed super fast, because she was a previous overseas contract worker and had a good record. I've talked with her a few times since then, and she says her work there is very interesting. She is naturally caring and sweet, so the nursing center's residents love her, the staff is pleasant, and the work load just enough. She sometimes takes in overtime work though, because she says she wants to fill her empty hours. The other medical assistants, being that they have family nearby, want to spend time with their family. M says she will just combine all her sick leaves and vacation leaves to take a longer vacation with her family here in Manila.

Medical Assistants are now studing online at MedAssistant.org!

Medical Assistant
About the MedAssistant.org and St. Augustine School of Medical Assistants, by Mary Kho
I saw the news the other night about the OFW or Overseas Filipino Worker coming home from Taiwan because the electronic factory that they were working for closed down and they do not have a choice but to come home empty handed and they have to pay for their own plane ticket. It is so hard to see that the economic around the world keeps getting worst. I hope it would be better these coming days in time for the Christmas season for the family to be able to celebrate. Anyway, the government is offering some training for the OFW so they can move on and have a better job in the future. I think it would be best is they would take up a
medical assistant course, in just few months they would have their certificates and they could apply even abroad, being a medical assistants gives them more opportunities and have a better salary so they can help their family because most of them are bread winners. I think the government should provide them with good medical assistant schools for the Filipinos who lost their jobs so they can move on with their life and support their families.
